Disclaimers, hints and stuff... THINGS YOU SHOULD READ, KNOW AND ADHERE TO BEFORE HIKING!!! DISCLAIMER OF THIS SITE: This site is for information purposes and I do not encourage nor condone careless acts when chasing waterfalls. Only attempt hiking trails that you are physically capable of handling and always in a safe manner. Any risks you take are on you! I do not take any responsibility and I am not liable for your actions. If it looks impossible to do or dangerous, just don't do it to be safe! Stay on the trails! HINTS/SUGGESTIONS... Most Importantly: Always let someone know where you will be hiking before you leave. Even if it is checking in with a friend before each new location you visit. Avoid weekends if at all possible, unless you like bigger crowds. This is escpecially important if you are traveling/hiking alone. Equally Important: Always think wisely and think safe!! You should never really take risks. Be safe!!! If something looks dangerous you should probably turn around and not do it even if it means not getting to see the waterfall or take a closer picture. Make sure you have plenty of gas and air in your tires and the basics of car care before venturing out. If you need a parking/admission pass, make sure you purchase it ahead of time, unless it is an item that you can purchased at the location. Take plenty of water for longer hikes and a snack or energy bar is also a good idea. The more water, the better. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. Always have a jacket, rain coat, umbrella in case you need it. Make sure you have appropriate footwear such as hiking shoes or boots. Waterproof shoes are also a bonus. Sandals and flip flops are not great hiking footwear. Always wear shoes that will do well in cases such as mud or slippery rocks. Make sure that your phone, cameras and other equipment are fully charged before heading out. Depending upon the location and time of year, it might be beneficial to take some sort of bug repellent. If there is a map of the hiking trails, you can take a picture of it so it's on your phone and that might help you in case you are uncertain of which direction to go on a trail. Not a necessity, but it's nice to have an itinerary or plan of where you wish to visit laid out ahead of time, which will allow you to organize your time and possibly reach more destinations if you desire.
