"Always working, sometimes playing!" - Rick A. Ludwig Rick Ludwig is one of the Midwest's best-kept secrets when it comes to variety style vocal performance and impersonations of the greatest singers since the 1950's until the present. Rick sings over 500 different songs from over 100 different artists spanning over 60 years and he also impersonates many of these artists vocally and at certain shows physically with costumes or hilarious props. Rick's show with costumes is called The Impression Man Show. Rick's regular (non-costume) vocal show is called Rick Ludwig Sings Hits From The Past. Rick's incredible 4 octave range (from bass to falsetto) allows him to do almost any song. From the Oakridge Boys to Frankie Valli, Rick keeps his audiences on their toes as to what he will sing next. In 2019, Rick expanded his shows by adding the The Singing Jukebox show. Rick can perform over 100 hit songs from the 50's to present for Rock, Pop and Country and the audience chooses Rick's next song to perform, just like a jukebox. Every show is different, because every crowd is different. Rick is doing this show mostly as a Street Peformer at farmer's market in downtown Des Moines and on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. Rick has entertained at over 5000 shows from 1985-present, including on the streets, casinos, restaurants, nightclubs, wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate parties, singing telegrams, nursing and retirement homes, private parties, karaoke shows, national anthems and even celebration of life/funerals. Rick began singing in public at a very young age of four (his mom claims three) in church, performing special numbers. The love for singing has always been in his blood! He is a natural when it comes to singing like the original artists and impersonating their famous moves! After seing Rick perform at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Altoona, Iowa, Rick was compared to the late, great Vegas entertainer/singer/impersonator Danny Gans, by some big fans of Danny's that saw his show several times before he died. Danny Gans was famous in Las Vegas for many years and was one of Rick's biggest inspirations and favorite performers. Rick performs Standards & Oldies from the 50's & 60's, classic country, new country (including hits on the radio today), classic pop and rock & roll songs from the 70's & 80's and even contemporary Christian and gospel songs. He also likes to throw in a few Patriotic songs and a few silly songs every now and then by Ray Stevens. Besides Des Moines and all of Iowa, Rick has also sung in these cities!!
